Using the converter

How do I convert JPG to PDF?

Drop your images onto the converter (or tap Choose images), drag them into the order you want, pick a page size and margin, then press Convert to PDF. When it finishes, press Download PDF.

Is the JPG to PDF converter free?

Yes. It's free, with no account, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it. The only limits are the number and size of images per PDF, which keep your browser from running out of memory.

Can I combine multiple images into one PDF?

Yes. Add up to 200 images and choose One PDF: each image becomes one page, in the order shown. Choose Separate PDFs instead to get one PDF per image, downloaded together as a ZIP.

Can I change the order of the pages?

Yes. Drag the image cards into the order you want, use the arrow buttons under each image, or press Sort by file name to order them by file name. The PDF follows the order you see.

Which image formats can I convert?

JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame) and BMP. iPhone HEIC photos work in Safari, which can open HEIC itself; in other browsers, share or export the photos as JPG first.

Will converting JPG to PDF reduce the image quality?

Not with the default Original setting: JPG photos are placed into the PDF exactly as they are, without re-compression. Choose Smaller file only when you need a smaller PDF, for example for email or an upload limit.

What page size should I choose?

Use A4 for documents in most countries and US Letter in the US and Canada. Choose Fit to image to make each page exactly the size of its picture, which is best for photo albums and portfolios.

Are my images uploaded or stored?

No. Your images are never uploaded to our servers — the PDF is created by your own browser, on your own device. The images and the PDF exist only in the open browser tab and are cleared when you start over or close the tab.

Can I use the converter on my phone?

Yes. It works in the browser on iPhone, iPad and Android, as well as on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook computers. No app is needed.

How do I make the PDF smaller?

Choose Smaller file under Image quality. Images are resized to at most 2,000 pixels on the long side and saved at JPG quality 80, which usually shrinks phone photos a lot while keeping text readable.

Is there a limit on the number or size of images?

You can add up to 200 images per PDF, each up to 50 MB. Very large batches use a lot of memory, so on phones it can help to choose Smaller file.

Can I select or search the text in the PDF?

No. A PDF made from photos contains pictures of the text, not the text itself. To make it searchable you need OCR (optical character recognition) software.

Technical details

Why does my PNG have a white background in the PDF?

PDF pages are white, and images are placed into the PDF as JPG data, which has no transparency. Transparent areas of PNG, WebP and GIF images therefore become white.

My photo was sideways — will it be fixed?

Photos that your camera marked as rotated are shown the right way up automatically. If an image is still sideways, press its rotate button before converting.

Does Auto orientation mix portrait and landscape pages?

Yes. With Auto, landscape images get landscape pages and portrait images get portrait pages. Choose Portrait or Landscape to make every page the same.

How big are the pages when I choose Fit to image?

Each page is the size of its image at 96 pixels per inch, plus any margin. A 1920 × 1080 pixel picture becomes a 20 × 11.25 inch page; PDF viewers scale it to your screen and printers fit it to the paper.

Which browsers are supported?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. The converter needs JavaScript; it doesn't need any plugins or extensions.

Does the converter work offline?

The page has to load first, but the conversion itself happens entirely on your device, so it doesn't send or receive your images over the internet.

Can I convert a PDF back to JPG?

Not with this tool — it converts images into PDF only.
